RSI was founded by Dr. Ernest R. Roberts in 1977, when he retired as the Group Vice President from Aerojet. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Budapest, Hungary, and became a Rocket Scientist. He had the wonderful opportunity of being surrounded by some of the most astute recognized men and women in the Rocket and Space industry such as Professor Von Karman, Admiral Johnson and many others.

Dr. Roberts’s wisdom was graciously passed and shared with the current CEO Judy O Butler, for close to a decade for recognizing the importance of the conservative and high-tech mentality required for conducting business. Dr. Roberts always exemplified the de facto principles of maintaining a high ethics standard and level of integrity, and that same model exists today at RSI. He will always be the creator of this company and will continue to forever live through the eyes of the current CEO.
